John Krasinski announced on twitter that his upcoming horror sequel, A Quiet Place: Part II, has started filming. He posted an image of the movie’s first clapperboard which notes the title as “Part ll” on social media.
Krasinski co-wrote, directed, and starred in the first film, which came out in 2018. A Quiet Place was commercially and critically hit. It was about a post-apocalyptic world where a family trying to survive from monsters that hunt by sound must somehow live their lives without making a sound.
Krasinski’s real-life wife Emily Blunt will reprise her role as Evelyn Abbott for the sequel. Also Krasinski and Blunt's on-screen children, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe will be returning as Regan and Marcus. Brian Tyree Henry and Cillian Murphy will be joining the cast as new characters in the film.
John will not be reprising his role as Lee Abbott, since his character sacrificed his life to save his kids during the first movie. Krasinski has also written the sequel’s script and will return as director for the sequel.
A Quiet Place Part II is scheduled for a March 2020 release.
