Sony Pictures has announced that Quentin Tarantino's latest movie, ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' will be re-releasing with new footage across 1,000 theaters in the United States and Canada this Friday, Oct, 25. The extended cut of the film will contain 10 minutes of new footage stretched across four additional scenes. The critically lauded film which ran at 161 minutes will now have a runtime of 171 minutes.
About the re-release of the film, Adrian Smith, President of Domestic Distribution for Sony Pictures said, "Audiences have shown tremendous support for this movie, and we look forward to offering them another opportunity to see the film as it’s meant to be seen - in theaters on the big screen - with more sights and sounds of the sixties from Quentin Tarantino as an added treat.”
‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ starring an ensemble cast of Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Emile Hirsch, Timothy Olyphant and Al Pacino was released to critical and commercial success when it hit theaters in July, becoming one of the most successful original films of the year. It grossed $139 million domestically and $368 million worldwide against the budget of $90 million, making it Tarantino’s second-highest grossing film behind 2012’s Django Unchained.
The film is expected to be a major Oscar contender. Sony recently confirmed that Leonardo DiCaprio would be campaigned for Best Actor and Brad Pitt for Best Supporting Actor.
